All you Need to Know about Solitaires

Peg Heads

This is the most common iteration of the solitaire diamond style. The shank and prongs are soldered to form a single piece. The two can be made of different metals. This setting is higher-profile, which means damage is more likely.

Cathedral Setting

Another version of the peghead, this design features an upward-sloping shoulder. The ring can be worn more comfortably because of this and is more durable by a slight degree.

Trellis Setting

This setting has lattice-like metalwork supporting the diamond. The woven setting joins the shank and forms a single piece that is stronger by far. The design is more decorative in nature, mainly from the side. It looks modern but retains the classic appeal that is the trademark of the solitaire. If you want that specific combination, this style is for you.
