Diamond mining is less lethal when compared to activities like gold mining. The latter involves the use of toxic chemicals which are absent in diamond mining. • It is possible to restore the regions depleted by diamond mining. Countries like Botswana, Canada, and Namibia have already scheduled the restoration program to commence when the mining activity comes to a close.

• In the case of Sierra Leone, where lands were in severe disrepair, a great improvement has been seen in its resources as a result of the collective effort of restoration.
