How to Identify a Diamond Ring?

The main reason for this is that such diamonds will not usually come with an authenticity certificate that proves that you own a real diamond ring. Now, you may be wondering how to identify a diamond ring. Thankfully, there are some easy at-home tests, which you may consider in order to find out whether your diamond ring is real or not.

The first option is to look at the diamonds encrusted on your ring through a diamond loupe or a magnifier. If you can see some inclusions, it will probably be a real diamond. Otherwise, it is more likely to be artificial. Still, it is recommended to consult a gemologist here, because you never know, it can be a flawless diamond as well. Note that such diamonds are really rare, and hence, unbelievably expensive. So, if it turns out to be real, it will be like hitting a billion-dollar jackpot.

Another option is the fog test. Here, you will have to blow a jet of air from your mouth on to the main gemstone of your ring. This will make your center diamond foggy. If the diamond is able to disperse this moisture content within seconds, it probably is a real diamond. Otherwise, it is recommended to take your ring to a gemologist in order to check its genuineness.
