Some Facts about Rose Gold and How it is Made?

There are many people out there who do not know how rose gold gets its color, even when they’re about to buy a 1 5 carat diamond solitaire ring.

How Rose Gold is Made

Gold is one of the softest metals on earth, which is why it is very rarely used to make jewelry. Its value aside, gold is used for making jewelry for the simple reason that it does not tarnish or rust. However, since it is a weak metal, it is combined with other metals in order to make it stronger.

A wide range of metals can be mixed in with gold to make it stronger, such as copper, nickel, and palladium. Each of them brings up the scratch resistance and durability of the resulting alloy. However, the color also changes, such as when mixing 24k gold with a copper, which gives rose gold.

Rose gold is valuable as its yellow gold counterpart. This is because it will have the same amount of pure gold in it as yellow gold of the same purity.
