What Traditional Diamond Solitaire Rings Allude to?

Traditionally, solitaire has been preferred by couples since it is one of the popular engagement ring settings. When one thinks of the setting, often round brilliant cut springs to mind, but there are other shapes to be considered as well, such as oval, marquise, pave emerald, or princess. The most romantic, however, is the solitaire ring with a heart shaped cut.

Oval is similar to round diamond solitaire rings but is a touch elongated than that. On the other hand, marquise solitaire is an elongated one with pointed ends similar to the shape of a ship’s hull. The differences in shape also make the symbolism of certain solitaire rings slightly different from each other.

While round brilliant solitaire symbolizes eternal love, oval center stone may have other meanings except the symbolism traditionally attached to a solitaire. For instance, it can allude to the eternal zest of a risk taker. The oval and round solitaire cuts are the two traditional shapes, while some of the others are fancy.
